Pregnancy and Crohn’s disease
Research has shown that the progress of pregnancy and delivery is not affected by Crohn’s disease. However, Crohn’s disease sufferers are advised to consult their doctor before proceeding with a pregnancy. In any case, however, most children born to Crohn’s disease sufferers are not affected themselves. However, children who develop the disease are sometimes more severely affected than adults, showing delayed development and, in some cases, delayed sexual development.
